A brilliant and memorable selection of premiere short films from around the world await audiences at the Opening Night Ceremony of the 44th Edition of Flickers at Providence Performing Arts Center.

This year’s line up promises to engage and entertain while saluting the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival's unique status as a festival of discovery for short film and feature filmmakers alike. Receiving over 7,000 entries on a yearly basis, RIIFF has become a global film festival of note for filmmakers looking to premier their work. The Festival has screened a total of 98 films that have gone on to become nominated for Academy Awards, with 15 films winning the coveted award. RIIFF also serves as a qualifier for the BAFTA, GOYA, and Canadian Screen Awards.
