Crash Course in Acting for Film & TV (November 2nd)
On-camera acting intensive led by RIIFF’s director of community engagement and development Ericka Atwell Cardona, who has worked in Hollywood for over 10 years, brings all of her casting, producing and acting expertise to an exclusive on-camera class that will give actors real feedback to improve their confidence and performance.
What can you expect?
You will learn how to adjust your performance for the camera, not the stage, smaller gestures, maintaining presence, and nuanced emotional work. You will get to see what reads well on screen.
Play back and feedback!
Watching yourself on screen is invaluable. You can spot habits, tics, or over acting instantly. As a former casting director, Ericka will give specific feedback tied to what’s visible on each playback.
Confidence!
You will practice slating, eyelines, framing, and all the technical pieces that can make your performance improve! You will get comfortable performing cold reads or sides under time pressure, just like real casting sessions.
Most importantly, you will learn to be more confident in yourself and your personal skills as an actor. This course will provide you the tools needed to leave an impact on casting directors and help you to refine your performance skills.
All acting ability levels and ages are welcome. Learning how to be a better actor can have innumerable benefits both on and off the film set as well! These skills are helpful in building charisma and can be seamlessly applied to everyday environments.
Plus, you’ll be learning from a seasoned industry professional. Ericka has worked in Hollywood for over ten years and is happy to offer her guidance and share her experiences about working in the film industry.
